Set up rates at checkout with Bob Go for Magento
Rates at checkout is a feature offered by Bob Go that allows Magento users to customise shipping options and charges during the checkout process. Merchants can create multiple rates with set conditions within a service level taking the delivery area, weight and order value into account to display these options. The specific type of rate required can then be selected, this includes dynamic rates, fixed rates, courier rates, formula rates or no rates. This setup allows for enhanced transparency in shipping costs, reduces cart abandonment rates, and ultimately drives higher conversion rates by providing customers with more choices at checkout. To utilise rates at checkout on Magento, first, install the Bob Go shipping extension from the Magento Marketplace, Composer or manually. After installation, integrate your Magento store with Bob Go.
Next, ensure that the Bob Go rates at checkout feature is enabled within your Magento settings. This allows you to configure shipping rates based on specific criteria, enhancing your customers’ checkout experience with real-time shipping options.
Seamless integration: how it works
An order is placed on the Magento store. The customer selects their preferred rate, and pays for the order and shipping costs.
The order pulls through to Magento admin. Payment from the sale is captured.
The order pulls through to the Bob Go dashboard.
- The merchant confirms the shipping details.
- A shipping rate is selected and the order is fulfilled.
Order information is updated on Magento admin.
- When an order is fulfilled, the order items will be marked as “shipped”. The courier information and the tracking number will also be added to the order.
- Please note this is DISABLED by default.
The courier collects and delivers parcel.
- Upon order fulfillment, a collection request is sent to the courier.
- The merchant must print the automated waybill and attach it to the parcel.
- Tracking updates are emailed to the customer.
- The parcel is collected and subsequently delivered by courier.
The order is updated as completed.
- Magento automatically marks the order as “completed” once all the items are fulfilled and an invoice is attached.
Good to know:
- A "cancelled" status will be pushed to Magento if the order is cancelled.
- Once an item on Magento has been marked as “shipped”, the fulfillment cannot be cancelled.
- If all the items were shipped, but the order does not have an invoice attached to it, the order status will be updated by Magento to “processing”.
- When pushing fulfillments and shipments to Magento, it will be requested that a notification be sent to the buyer. This depends on the configuration of the Magento store.
